WHEN PEONIES DON'T BLOOM

NO BUDS APPEAR:

• Planted at wrong depth.
• Competing with roots of trees and  or shrubs
• Over-fertilized with Nitrogen
• Plants too young and immature
• Plants too large, old, or overcrowded
• Too much shade

BUDS APPEAR BUT  FLOWERS DO NOT DEVELOP:

• Flower buds killed by late frost
• Too much shade
• Disease
• Nematodes
• Over-watering
• Poor drainage
• Plants undernourished
• Excessively hot weather
